Graphic Arts

I’m not sure I have an identifiable design aesthetic. Some of what I do is inspired, some miscellaneous, some serve a client, a brand, or work as a user interface or user experience element. Most of my work is a playful combination of photography, graphic design and vector graphics. All of it is fun to create.

App UI Design

App design is challenging. Everytime a new smartphone or tablet screensize is introduced it affects how the app’s graphics and user interface is rendered. This is tricky, annoying, frustrating, but also rewarding when you get it right. Below is a small sample of my work, for more detail see the One Bad Ant web site.

The History Center App

Description.

Another app obituary unfortunately. I was really proud of this app. It was one of my first and was developed for iOS before I began developing apps for both iOS and Android. I built the app so the user could choose their preferred color palette for the app: black and white, blue (shown here), or sepia tone. The home page had a very simple set of three options and I created the buttons, in Photoshop, to look like old fashioned typewriter keys.

It was a very nice, very clean app and like the Discovery Trail app, i included a lot of basic info right in the app in case the user was out of reach of wifi or cell reception.
